Is GOLD (bars) a good place to park the funds (5K CAD to start) as savings for my little guy (10 - 12 years investment time span). I just want to be able to access the funds for really bad times however i am sure me and my wife are disciplined enough to not touch the money that we have set aside for the little guy. RESP doesn't impress me much as its locked in for only one purpose and i can live without getting the govt. contribution or may be contribute to RESP later in life. What are RFD'rs thoughts ?
