My mother, who now lives overseas, handed me a bank account book that was last active in the 90's. This was opened in BC. She isn't even sure if the ending balance, 5 digit figure, is accurate or not since at that time, these bank books used to have to be inserted into ATM's for updating and maybe she forgot to make a last update to the bank book.

It seems my mother may only have this and next year, if the account became dormant in the 90's to recover balances in the account.
Has anyone done this recovery before and any pointers besides those already mentioned in the article above?
