I just have to throw it out there that people who work in the banks (sorry if I offend anyone) can never get RESP applications and contributions right. They talk as if they know what they're doing but they don't. They've messed up my applications for CESG not once, but twice.
One may think that they deal with these applications on a daily basis and know what they're doing - but don't be fooled. They don't.
On the other hand, don't let this post discourage you from contributing your RESP via a bank. Although they did mess up, one can always fix it afterwards as long as you made the contribution... just frustrating to do so.
