Heres the story, My aunt has been married to a man for over 20 years. They own a house worth around 700k (he bought it originally for 140k possibly before they were married), now he has been with bad health for the past few years and he has put ownership of the house in his daughters name. My aunt is in alright health but had a few serious problems in the past 5 years as well, she is a senior citizen. Now she isnt really too savvy on laws and etc so has always had her husband run finances, taxes and etc. Her husband has been claiming her on his pension so he would get a bigger return and her a lot less than what she should have gotten untill maybe a few years ago. I believe they never shared a bank account together though he keeps his finances secretive, also in recent years he transferred at least 200k to his daughter of which he has made after the marriage and money of which I believe should have been savings my aunt was entitled to, he wasnt as secretive before 4 years ago, first 15 years of marriage were ok but a change in attitude happened when his brothers wife divorced him and took half of what his brother owned. Ive told my aunt to do the same as she really isnt happy and just cooks and cleans and has some verbal abuse here and there but she just would never do such a thing its against her morals. Now what we fear is that If he Passes away his family will kick her out of the house that she has lived in for over 20 years because she doesnt have ownership. She is only now realizing what her husband has done and I would like to no what her options are.
