Performing Credit Checks on Potential Tenants (Quebec)

This is probably not the correct place to post this...(What section of RFDs should this go? Home and Garden?) Anyway...


My in-laws have purchased a Rental property a little over a month ago and have done renovations to one of the units that they are now advertising for Rent for August (This is in Gatineau, Quebec).

How would they go about performing a credit check on a potential tenant? Where do they get forms for the people to complete? Where does it go too? How much does it cost? How long does it take to get the credit report back? Is this the standard thing to do before having a new rental lease signed? Is there anything else they should know about?
