Just received my latest bill: $420 for two months and just wondering if this is in line with what other people spend. I'm on track to spend about $2300 a year. It's a modern 2300 sq. ft. home with gas heating and central air. We have a basement apartment with two adults living there. Upstairs is 2 adults and 2 kids. Because of the basement apartment we have 2 fridges in the house and one electric stove (upstairs is Gas). The TV upstairs is an old CRT but it's generally only used in the evening. Wife hates the CFLs so not much I can save there. Washer/Dryer and dishwasher are run quite often (almost daily) but usually off peak. That's about it in terms of major electricity gobblers I think.
Our time of use seems pretty good as we are running about 60% off peak, 20% mid-peak and 20% high peak. Wife works from home every day and basement apartment is occupied during the day as well. Not sure what everyone else here experiences for their time of use ratios.
Any ideas/strategies for saving? Thanks!
