Anyone have experience with dissolving a condo board? We got a bad board, already have a petition with over 50% of owners signed. We're planning on submitting it to the board ASAP. I know there can be technicalities with the letter requesting the special meeting, and we'll work that out. From my research I understand the board has 20 days to issue notice, and then another 15 days to hold the meeting. If the board doesn't issue the notice in 20 days, then the owners can call the meeting themselves.
My question is, what's the process for the owners to call and hold the meeting? I know for sure that the board will not call the meeting, they gonna delay as much as they can.
So on day 21, do we send a message to the board, property manager, and corp lawyer telling them that we'll hold the meeting ourselves? What if all of them refuse to show up? Do we need to get our own lawyer to show up and record the vote results?
Yes, I know, need to talk to a lawyer. But trying to get some info from someone that might've gone through the same thing first.
