I used this place before last year and they told me they never took appointments. Walked in today at the one on Yonge and Eglinton at 5:15pm today asked where the clipboard to sign in for a personal filing was and she scuffed at me while doing nothing said, "geeze just wait a minute". I sign in at 5:15 and sit down and see about 4 people ahead of me which doesn't seem too bad. Time passes 6pm hits and there suddenly came 5 more people who claimed they had appointments I thought to myself hmm strange guess they started taking appointments now since people kept asking for them. I said it'll probably be another hour-ish at the most. Half an hour goes by 6:30pm some young guy comes in says hes doing a personal filing as a student he signs in sits down says how long is the wait she says 45 mins at best he said ok I'll go out and eat and come back she said that's fine and he leaves. Place is empty... 7pm hits he comes back and immediately he gets called in. I spring out of my seat saying, "So when did you start taking appointments?". She tells me, "Ohh well we don't" I said, "thats funny because that guy was behind me." She says, "Ohh well he was here half an hour ago he just went out to eat and came back". I said lady I was here for 2 hrs I was litteraly in front of you, I was animated I was on my playbook reading and waiting not like I was snoozing. I show her my name on the list which is half way up the page of people she seemingly checked off then she tells me "Well your definitely next!:D":facepalm:. I in a pit of frustration tell her this is *****ing ridiculous I'm out and left.
Now I could of... just eaten my pride and done the return and maybe pay up to $200 bucks in the complexity of my return and numerous job hopping and varied investments then at the moment he tells me to pay I say nah I changed my mind see ya don't worry about filing it I saw what you did and know what I need to do thanks for the $200 lesson.
Course there's a chance they might try to not let me leave or somehow call the police on me.
Anyways, I just needed to vent.
I am also in the neighborhood of a competent accounting office if anyone knows of any. Not one that tells me my couple months of transit passes are not going to get me any return period.
Am also, open to any suggestions on what I could of done since I still feel a little burned by them.
Also I'm not sure if it had anything to do with it but I am a visible minority and everyone coming in that was white seemed to get priority and the reason I'm not sure because I had seen a few people come in after me only to get turned away for no particular reason given. I am not the easiest to tell if I am white and I guess she didn't get a good look at me until my name was written. Not sure if this was just a racial thing I'm compelled to believe it doesn't exist in Canada, but anything may be possible and racism is sometimes hard to determine subtlety.
