Old ByLaw Ticket and Credit

Hey All,

My GF received a Bylaw infraction about 6 years ago from the City of Ottawa for not paying for the oTrain. Just recently iQor credit agency has come after her for the ticket. I know that bad things on your credit disappear after 6 or 7 years. My question is in an instance like this, will it only stay on her credit for 6 or 7 years from the date she got the ticket, or from 6-7 years from now?
