Advice for finance noob in investing?

Hi

I am a total noob with financial stuff and was hoping you guys could give me some advice.
I have 11k dollars in my account at National Bank of Canada. I only need maximum of 4000.
Could you suggest how I can best invest my money safely at NBC? I say National Bank only because I only have an account there and it is easier to manage if everything is at the same bank and all the accounts are on the same page. I try and do as much of financial stuff online, don't like having to go in and speak to bank people.
