Claiming Moving Expenses - Full-Time Student Studying Abroad

Hello all,

I have been reading through the CRA's site and I just can't quite figure out if I can claim moving expense(s). So here are the details:

I know that "students must fulfill two main qualifications: the distance between your home and school must be at least 40km (by the shortest public route) and you must be a full-time student." -- I am/was a full time student

I also know that "if your moving expenses are more than the award income you report for the year, you can deduct the unused portion of those expenses from the award."
-- I was given a $1,000 scholarship to go on exchange from University in BC to University in Sweden

But, I left to go on exchange January 12, 2012 but the scholarship was awarded on Jan 1, 2012 (it was to help cover the costs of traveling to university abroad)

I did not work while I was in Sweden - I just studied full time

I then moved back to BC and got a job in BC and worked for the summer and started back at school in September.

So my main questions are as follows:

1 - can I claim my meals, train ride, and flight (paid by cash and aeroplan points) for my move TO Sweden?

2- can I then claim moving expenses for my meals, train and flight (again flight paid by cash and aeroplan points) back to Canada?

3 - Can I use the simplified method to claim a flight or will it only accept vehicle travel?

4 - Since the CRA states the Frequent Flyer Points aquired while traveling for business, which is paid for by the employer is considered "income" then I would using frequent flyer points to move abroad for school is considered an expense? (1 aeroplan point costs $0.03)

I was just hoping that someone here might have some insight on this issue.

Thanks in advance!
