I forgot to pay my Nov 9th statement date CC bill and was charged interest of $2.46 which was shown on my Dec 10 statement. When I went online to pay on Dec 18th, I payed the Dec 10th balance in full (which obviously included Nov 9 balance since I forgot to pay that) + for some reason I also payed for the charges that incurred between Dec 10 and that day (Dec 18). Essentially, on Dec 18, I payed more then what I owed for the Dec 10 CC bill (which was due Jan 4).
I just checked online and for my January statement (I haven't received the paper statement yet), I was charged interest of $0.24. I know it's only 24 cents, but I don't understand why I was charged any interest considering I payed them MORE then what I owed them. Am I missing something here?
