Quick question about claiming my APEGM fees for my taxes. Fully aware where to put them (including the GST portion) but I can't find any information on my scenario.
Up until last year, my annual dues were always due by Jan 31 so I usually paid them mid January or so. For the 2012 year, they changed it to being due Dec 31, 2011. Therefore last year I technically paid 2x the dues. I only claimed the first one without really noticing the change, just assuming that it was for the year's membership dues.
I'm pretty sure by the way it is written in the CRA information, I should have claimed both years fees on last years tax return. Can anyone confirm this? Sorry for such a short thread, asked the question in the other thread about claiming professional examination fees (which we now can, thankfully) but got no answer.
