My wife was given a RBC Visa Gift card. I tried to use it at a few retailers but it always get declined.
- I asked the retailer to split the transaction so I can use the full balance on the Vsia gift card. (e.g. if transaction is $127.23, I asked them to put $100 on the gift card)
- I also tried to charge $50 less than the full balance, also got declined.
- I checked online and the card has full balance, enough to cover each of the (split) transaction.
- I called in and the IVR said the same thing.
- RBC site stated it does not need to be activated.
- It cost money if I want to talk to a live person.
Anyone has a clue before I fork out the talking fee?
