So I've been fairly fortunate in my finances that most of my debts are paid off or close to being paid off... Looking for advice on what to do next? Been working sales job with fairly lucrative salaries since I was 16 and through university... actually taking a bit of a pay cut now to go into the career I want to (thank god no longer in sales).
I'm 25 now with a bit in a high interest savings account. My mortgage, car payments, and school loans have pretty much ALMOST been paid off. No other loans other then a unused secured LOC. Now I have not really thought about my savings/investing until recently as I just starting to pay off my debts.
Currently have 0 in TFSA/RRSP.
In terms of risk/goals... I know I'm young and high risk doesnt worry me as much but don't want to take unnecessary risk. My jobs requires my full attention so I dont have time to be daytrading/micromanaging stocks to any level.... 40-60 hour work weeks are pretty brutal already. Goals? No real financial goals other than a family in the far far future...
Should I start with the TFSA max out the missing contributions for the past few years? GIC? ETFS/Mutual funds? etc? What would you do with no debt and a clean slate?
Thanks for the help!
