Same day cheque clearing?

Hi,

Please go easy on me, as I realize I've done a stupid thing and I'm about to ask a stupid question, but here goes:

Today is June 1st- rent day, and a Saturday. I forgot that I recently gave my landlord cheques for my account at a local credit union, rather than my old bank, but my pay is still being deposited to my old bank account. I have sent myself an Interac Transfer so the money will be in the correct account soon, but I'm terrified that the cheque may bounce in the meantime. Is that possible?
