My dad just turned 50 and wants to purchase term-life insurance. He isn't very computer savvy so he's asked me to help him out. He has an extensive family history of heart issues. He has a history of hypertension himself, which is controlled by medication. Non-smoker. Because of these health issues I'll assume he'll need a no-medical plan.
I've done a quick Google search on companies but there's quite a few with various ranging options. His main purpose for the plan is to cover death related expenses such as a burial as well as take care of any remaining balance on their mortgage and/or LOC, or other debts.
My mother already has a term-life plan worth 200k. I'm not sure if this matters?
For his needs and medical background, what companies and/or plans should I be looking at?
Thanks!
