So my common-law partner and I have been together for about 7 years now. We now have 3 kids and still have seperate MSP accounts. I'm the only one with income at the moment so as it stands I basically pay full premiums and my partner has a %100 percent subsidy. The MSP site has this to say:
Marriage
When you marry (or begin living in a marriage-like relationship - see the definition of spouse under Who is Eligible?), you should combine separate MSP accounts into one family account - see Adding a Spouse below. If one or both spouses are changing their names, follow the instructions for Name Change.
What exactly does "should combine MSP accounts" mean? If we're supposed to I would like to combine accounts but I'm a little worried that that may flag something somehow. Backpaying 5 years of MSP is not something I want to do.
Cheers
